For this systematic review and meta-analysis, we identified all relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that involved the application of dapoxetine in male PE patients. The following databases were searched: Cochrane Central dapoxetine 30mg tablet Register of Controlled Trials, EMBASE (updated to February 2014), and PubMed (updated to February 2014). Search terms included: dapoxetine/dapoxetine hydrochloride, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors/SSRIs, and premature ejaculation/PE. The database search found 226 articles, and 3 additional reports were identified manually.
Molecular Weight
A total of 217 records remained after duplication removal. Of these studies, 201 were excluded on the basis of the aforementioned exclusion criteria after the reading of title and abstract, and 10 were removed after full-text reading and discussion. Thus, 6 clinical trials12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 were included, and data from the included studies were obtained for meta-analysis. Behavior modification and psychotherapy were the initial major approaches used for the management of patients with PE.
